At its core, is the concept that politicians can legislate "fairness" simple arrogance?

It isn't arrogant, so much as just not fiscally sound. They are going to only take away from the super achievers and provide to the underachievers... they think that this will make better living conditions while the richest don't buy a new jet this year. My issue is that if they are trying to get to the middle cl and not just the lower cl. Why aren't they letting corporations prosper. This will kill many many small businesses and even hurt corporations badly. Sure the government gives you a couple extra thousand, but you get laid off because your company is making budget cuts... It is a stupid stupid move as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for listening.
