Do in need to cook italian sausage before putting in crock pot or will it be ok cooking for 5 hours on high?

I am making a sausage and potato and carrot dish in the crockpot with some cream of mushroom and cream of celery soups poured over it, do i need to cook the italian sausage before i put it in the crockpot , or will it be ok cooking in the crockpot alone for 5 hours? I know it will not brown if I don't put it in a skillet for a few minutes, but that doesn't matter I am just concerned about it cooking all the way through.
