Aggressive fish community?
African cichlids won't work well with angelfish and discus, first, angels and discus will become too stressed from the aggressiveness of the African cichlids and eventually die. They also have different water parameters, angels and discus like acidic water while African cichlids tend to live in slightly alkaline waters. African cichlids are only mixed with other African cichlids, to form a cichlid community, you know, a lake habitat with lots of rock work that form caves and sparsely vegetated. Many people also keep marbled or spotted headstanders with cichlids, because they are also aggressive and can hold their own. They do get to a large size and recommended only for 55+ gallons. Also, many of the Synodontis catfishes come from Africa and have the same habitat as the cichlids. Sorry to say that if you do want African cichlids, you should get another tank, or find other fish to go with angelfish and discus. Good luck!
