I am in 5th grade Romance?

I've got a friend in 5th grade that practically stalks his "girlfriend". He stays in for recess if she does. He says he asked her if she liked him and it's been a MONTH and she has still hasn't answered him. He tries to sit next to her in the lunchroom. He's NOT being himself. Is this the right way to go?
